These chambers give the client the opportunity to sell very high quality
seed potato stock. The initial investment is very low and the return on
investment is very quick.
High quality seed potatos are a critically important component of economically
viable potato production operations. World-wide, major emphasis is currently
being placed on seed potato production systems that limit or reduce the number
of field multiplications or generations derrived originally from tissue culture plantlets.

multiplication of seed material. New cultivars can be rapidly multiplied to commercial seed
quantities and made available to seed growers.
Various systems are being used to produce pre-basic and basic seed for subsequent
field multiplication. The objective of the CETS Controlled Environment Potato Seed
Production System is to produce disease-free minitubers in adequate numbers; as rapidly
and as economically feasible. Tissue culture plantlets are used as the source material for
production of the astrotubers. Astrotubers are planted in the feild for the production
of the first generation, high quality, low pathogen, seed potatos.
